Who should you train... take this quick test.

List the people you hope will grow your business. Then answer the following questions for each, measuring their interest in, and skills and personality for, growing the business.
Use a 1-5 scale:

5 = very strong
4 = strong
3 = moderate
2 = weak
1 = almost nonexistent

Who has:

Fire in the belly?
Loyalty to your company?
Desire to be in this business?
Likeability?
Work ethic?
Listening skills?

Advice from the frontlines: I can’t work miracles. With great raw material you get great outcomes, and vice-versa. So please send me people who score high on the test. Some world-class subject matter experts may score lower than you would think. They are disasters when you put them in front of prospective customers. Likewise burned out employees whose attitudes have gone south, or jerks whom no one wants to buy anything from will not have any sudden moments of enlightenment. For training to work, I need your high scorers – your best and your brightest.
