Advice from the frontlines:

I can’t work miracles. With great raw material, you get great outcomes, and vice-versa. So please send me people who score high on the test. Some world-class subject matter experts may score lower than you would think. They are disasters when you put them in front of prospective customers. Likewise, burned-out employees whose attitudes have gone south, or jerks whom no one wants to buy anything from will not have any sudden moments of enlightenment. For training to work, I need your high scorers – your best and your brightest.
